Church of All Saints

The word "crumbs" in Old English meant saffron or golden yellow, and "berg" - a hill.

In 1734, Sir Henry Fermor, a local philanthropist, bequeathed money to the church and charity school for the benefit of the β€œignorant and pagan” who lived in or in the Crowborough and [1] .

Crowborough is located 56 km from London, and the railway, laid in 1868, contributed to the significant growth of the city. At the end of the 19th century, Crowborough became a spa resort, as it was located on a hill surrounded by picturesque hills and forests. Real estate agencies called it " Scotland in Sussex" [1] .
