Biography

Michael Brown graduated from and the Harvard Business School , after which he returned to his native Jasper and in 1981 began working at Meyer Body Inc. ( , Dubois County, Indiana), one of the co-owners of which was his father. In 1995, bought the company, in 1998 began to expand. Moved its headquarters to Jasper and renamed the company Meyer Distributing. From 1981 to 1998, Meyer Body Inc. employs 15 people staff, and by 2008, Brown had 300 jobs in the company. It successfully withstood the 2008 financial crisis , and along with Brown’s second company, Meyer Logistics, its business grew to 850 employees in 65 branches scattered across 35 states. From 2004 to 2014, he was a member of the supervisory board of a jasper high school [1] .

Since 1996, he registered as a supporter of the Democratic Party , changing his political preferences in 2012. In 2014 he was elected from the Republicans to the . November 6, 2018 Democrat Joe Donnelly won the Senate elections from Indiana [3] . During the election campaign, Brown was personally supported by Donald Trump , but observers noted that, as a result, the elected senator was defeated in two of the three districts , where the president spoke at his rallies [4] .
