The Berlin trolleybus is a closed trolleybus system operating in the German capital Berlin , and then in West Berlin and East Berlin ( GDR ).

An experimental trolleybus line with a length of 540 m (591 yards), opened by Siemens & Halske in the suburbs of Berlin Halensee , operated from April 29 to June 13, 1882 [1] .
The system also operated on December 5, 1904 - January 4, 1905, April 20, 1912 - July 31, 1914.
The main period of operation: December 24, 1933 - February 1, 1973.
- The trolleybus system in West Berlin (since 1933) was liquidated in 1965.
- Trolleybus system in East Berlin (since 1951) - was liquidated in 1973.
There are plans to organize new trolleybus systems in Berlin using electric buses with dynamic recharging.
