Historical essay

Tishanka Farm was founded around 1790 .

In the first years of the XIX century it was a small cattle farm of the Golitsyn landlords. The serf population transferred here from the settlement Veliko-Mikhailovka (about forty yards), serving the vast cattle-breeding economy of the landowners, did not lose touch with the former places of residence. And this economy itself was part of the main estate of the Golitsyn family in the Novokoskolsky district [2] .

The Golitsyn, together with the villagers in 1868, built the wooden St. Nicholas Church. At that time, the territory of the Belgorod region had about 80% forest cover and the tree (namely, “bog oak”, that is, the oak was especially soaked in water, which prevented its damage) was used for the needs of the Russian fleet [3] .

The sheep farm at the Tishanka farm soon demanded expansion (the sale of wool abroad gave the landowners great income), so two more farms appeared - Old and New. Tishanka becomes a village and during the VII revision ( 1815 ), along with the farms of Old and New belongs to Major General A. B. Golitsyn.

According to the serf reform of 1861, the Tishans received for redemption the usual minimum rate of land, a total of 720 acres . Tishans were not rich in bread: they received only 1% of their cash income from its sale. Meanwhile, money was required for taxes, taxes, redemption payments, for the rent of land and for economic needs. The wages were negligible: in some years, women in heavy field work received 15 kopecks per day.

In 1874, the Tishans achieved the opening of the Zemstvo school, but until 1900 it did not have a purpose-built building. Moreover, for a long time the opinion was held here that women do not need a diploma at all.

In 1890, there were 140 literate and male students in all Tishan farms and 6 women [2] .

In the 1930s, the church in the village was closed.

During the Great Patriotic War , namely on July 6, 1942, the territory of the village was occupied by German troops, until February 3, 1943, when the village was liberated [3] .

On October 11, 2007, the restored St. Nicholas Church was opened in the village of Tishanka of the Volokonovsky District [4] .

Population

In 1815, there were 53 courtyards and 320 souls in the village of Tishanka [2] .
