Biography
Representative of the dynasty of Muhammad Ali . The eldest son of Hussein Width Bey and his wife, Princess Amina Bihruz Khanum Effendi [1] [2] . His uncle was governor of Cairo .
He studied at Victoria College in Alexandria, Great Chesterfield College and Trinity College in Cambridge . He studied political economics.
Returning to his homeland, he held various government posts. He worked at the National Bank of Bank El Ahly El Masry . Later, he became an army officer. Participant of the Second World War and the Arab-Israeli War (1947-1949) .
Thanks to his excellent knowledge of English , he participated in diplomatic negotiations since 1948.
Member of the Egyptian delegation in Rhodes . In 1948, he served as secretary of the Egyptian delegation to the United Nations [3] . He then served as adjutant to his relative King King Farouk I [4] .
In February 1949, he was a member of the Egyptian delegation to negotiations on an armistice with Israel .
In 1949 he was appointed press officer of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Over time, he became a colonel, deputy commander. In July 1952, one day occupied the chair of the Minister of Defense of Egypt.
Family
On March 28, 1949, the wedding of Ismail Width and the Egyptian princess Fawzia Fuad , who was married to Shah of Iran Mohammed Reza Pahlavi , received the title of Queen of Iran.
After the wedding, they lived in an estate owned by a princess in Maadi , Cairo [2] [5] and in a villa in Semukha, Alexandria.
They had two children, one daughter and one son [6] :
