Biography

Rafinha is a student of the Portuguese Academy of São Paulo. In 2002, he won the most prestigious all-Brazilian tournament for young football players - the São Paulo Youth Cup, after which he began to be involved in the main squad of Portugal. However, soon, in 2003, it was acquired by São Paulo . Rafinha was bound by contractual obligations with the “tricolor” until 2010, but he never played the basis of Paulistas. Most of the time he played on loan for other clubs [1] .

In mid-2004, he was leased to the Serie B club Santo Andre , who had recently won the Brazil Cup and received a ticket to the Libertadores Cup . Rafinha in 2005 showed himself well in the main continental tournament in South America, and in 2006 was rented by one of the greats of Brazilian football Gremio . In 2007-2009 he continued to play on loan for various teams - San Caetano , Goias and Parana . With Goias in 2009, he won the state championship [1] .

In 2010, he began to play for Coritiba. In the first year - on loan, and in 2011-2013 - as a full-fledged player in the club. With Coritiba, Rafinha won four championships in the state of Parana, and in 2010 - the Brazilian Serie B, in the same year he helped his team win 24 games in a row [2] . Two times in a row he reached the final of the Brazilian Cup with the team [2] .

From 2013 to 2016, he played in Al-Shabab club in Saudi Arabia [2] . The most successful in terms of trophies during this period was the year 2014 for the midfielder when Al-Shabab won the Saudi Champions Cup and the country's Super Cup.

In 2016, Rafinha returned to his homeland, where he joined the Cruzeiro [2] . In 2017 and 2018, he won the Brazil Cup with the “foxes”, and in 2018 he became the champion of the state of Minas Gerais.
