Story
Rana Phukan, army captain, returns to Assam four years later, missing the views and sounds of his native village. At the local hospital, he meets its owner Barua, the husband of his childhood friend and fellow student Aparupa. In his free time, Rana tries to help fellow villagers. He arranges the marriage of Radha, chased by gossip, with a friend. He also sees pain under the humorous cynicism of Jeevan, the actor-poet.
Barua is aware of Aparupa's longing and is immersed in the work of tea plantations. The wound spends more and more time with Aparupa, which helps her to unwind. Barois remains a spectator of their gradual rapprochement. The villagers also see everything and begin to whisper. Meanwhile, Rana's mother is dying, breaking off all his connections with the village, except for the recently appeared vague feelings for Aparupa. Barua sets out to expand his business in Calcutta , fully aware of the tense situation between Rana and Aparupa, which makes Aparupa's choice a lot easier. However, instead of leaving with Rana, she leaves him surprised at the station. Soon after, a woman dies from a serious illness with a happy heart.
