History
The municipality was founded on January 15, 1543. Due to its location in the area of the junction of the borders of the three departments, in the XIX-XX centuries, more than once changed its administrative affiliation.
Geography
Guaymango is located in the transition zone between the coastal plains and mountains of the interior of the country.
