Serdar Ustyuner ( tour. Serdar Üstüner ; born March 1, 1983 ) - Turkish boxer , representative of the middle weight categories. He played for the Turkish boxing team in the first half of the 2000s, winner and winner of many tournaments of international importance, a participant in the Athens Summer Olympics .

Biography

Serdar Ustyuner was born on March 1, 1983. He trained at the Besiktas Sports Club in Istanbul .

He first made himself known on the international scene in the 2001 season, when he joined the Turkish national team and performed at the European Junior Championships in Sarajevo, where he reached the quarterfinals of the first middle weight category, losing to the Russian Matvey Korobov .

In 2002, he moved to the adult level, became the silver medalist of the Akhmet Jönert home international tournament in Istanbul, letting forward only the representative of Yugoslavia Geard Aetovich , he visited the Strandja Memorial in Plovdiv.

In 2003, he gained middle weight, won the European Union Championship in Strasbourg, won bronze at the Green Hill international tournament in Pakistan, losing to the Hungarian Karoy Balzai in the semifinals, and at the Anwar Chowdry Cup in Baku, where he was defeated by Russian boxer Andrei Gogolev . He boxed at the World Cup in Bangkok , where he was stopped at the preliminary stage by the representative of Ukraine Oleg Mashkin .

At the 2004 European Championships in Pula, in the 1/8 finals, he lost to the German Lukas Vilashek . He took second place at the European Olympic qualification in Gothenburg, and thanks to this achievement he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the Athens Summer Olympics . However, already in the opening match of the category up to 75 kg with a score of 16:34, he was defeated by the Uzbek Sherzod Abdurakhmonov and immediately dropped out of the fight for medals. Also this season he became the champion of Turkey in the light heavyweight category [1] .
