Pedro José Arce i Fagoa ( Spanish Pedro José Arce y Fagoaga , August 28, 1801 - April 3, 1871) was a Salvadoran politician who temporarily occupied the post of head of state. The younger brother of the President of the Federal Republic of Central America, Manuel José Arce .

Biography
Born in 1801 in San Salvador . He headed the city council of Sonsonate , participated in the adoption of the first constitution of El Salvador.
When it was decided to introduce the presidency in El Salvador in 1841, the Supreme Leader of Salvador Juan Lindo temporarily handed over to him the supreme authority in the country until June 28, when he assumed the presidency of the country.
When Juan José Guzman was elected president of the country, Pedro José Arce became vice president with him. On December 10, 1843, General Francisco Malespin declared President Guzmán, who was at that time in San Miguel, removed from power, transferring presidential powers to Senator Caetano Molina. On December 20, Guzman spoke to the Legislative Assembly and announced that he was retiring, and he transferred the presidential powers to Vice President Pedro José Arce. On December 29, Arce was forced to again transfer presidential powers to Moline, but on January 1, 1844, he again took charge of the state, and held this post until February 1, when Fermin Palacios was appointed as interim president in the Legislative Assembly as a result of the ongoing political struggle.
