Dardan ( ancient Greek Δάρδανος ) is a mythical Scythian king, a contemporary of the Argonauts, reported by Diodorus of Sicily . According to Diodorus, the legendary Finay, the king of Thrace, married the idea of the daughter of Dardan, the king of the Scythians. The idea slandered the sons of Phineus from Cleopatra, so Finay ordered to punish and torture them as punishment [1] Boreads freed Cleopatra's sons, killed Phineus, and transferred the Thracian kingdom to the liberated sons. The Argonauts convinced the new kings not to kill the Idea , but to return it to the father. When the Idea returned to Scythia, King Dardan himself sentenced his daughter to death, and she was executed. [2]
