Ihsan Yıldırım Tarhan (Turkish : İhsan Yıldırım Tarhan ; born November 24, 1980 ) is a Turkish boxer , a representative of the light heavy and first heavy weight categories. He played for the Turkish national boxing team between 1998 and 2008 , twice the silver medalist of the Mediterranean Games, the winner and medalist of many tournaments of international importance, and the participant of the Summer Olympic Games in Athens .

Biography
Ihsan Yildirim Tarkhan was born on November 24, 1980. He trained at the Tekelspor boxing club in Istanbul .
In 1998, he boxed at the World Junior Championships in Buenos Aires, but could not get here among the winners.
He made his debut at the adult international level in the 1999 season, when he entered the main team of the Turkish national team and spoke at the World Championships in Houston , where he was stopped by the Latvian representative Roman Kuklin in the 1/8 finals of the first heavy weight category.
In 2000, he boxed at the European Championships in Tampere , lost in the quarterfinals of the light heavyweight to the Russian Alexander Lebzyak .
He achieved his first serious success in the international arena in 2001, when he visited the Mediterranean Games in Tunisia and brought back the silver dignity award [1] . Participated in the world championship in Belfast .
In 2002, he won the Ahmet Dzhemert home international tournament in Istanbul, won the Bochkai Memorial in Debrecen, received bronze at the Anwar Chowdry Cup in Baku, boxed at the European Championship in Perm and at the World Cup in Astana.
At the 2003 World Cup in Bangkok, he was knocked out of the fight for medals already at the preliminary stage by Pole Alexy Kuzemsky . For all that, he won a silver medal at the Green Hill tournament in Pakistan and won the European Championship in Strasbourg.
In 2004, he was the best in the classification of the Turkish national championship, at the European Championship in Madrid and at the first student world championship in Antalya . At the European Championships in Pula, he stopped in the 1/8 finals, losing to Russian boxer Evgeni Makarenko . He also added to the track record the gold award received at the international Strandja tournament in Plovdiv, where he defeated all opponents, including in the decisive match he defeated the titled Italian Clemente Russo - thanks to this victory he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the Summer Olympic Games in Athens At the Games, speaking in the category of up to 81 kg, the first two rivals in the tournament bracket successfully passed, in particular, in the 1/8 finals he defeated the future world champion among professionals from Kazakhstan Beibut Shumenov , while in the third quarterfinal fight with a score of 11:16 he was defeated from the Uzbek Utkirbek Khaidarov [2] .
After the Athens Olympics, Tarkhan remained in the Turkish boxing team and continued to take part in major international competitions. So, in 2005, he took bronze at the Golden Belt international tournament in Bucharest, became the silver medalist of the Mediterranean Games in Almeria , and performed at the world championship in Mianyang .
In 2006, he participated in the European Championship in Plovdiv , but already at the preliminary stage he was defeated by the representative of Germany Alexander Povernov .
In 2007 he became the champion of Turkey in the classification of the first heavy weight.
At the 2008 Turkish Championship, he became the second in the under 91 kg category, losing to Bahram Muzaffer in the final. He tried to qualify for the Olympic Games in Beijing , but at the European Olympic qualification in Athens, he was already at the preliminary stage defeated by the representative of Belarus Viktor Zuev [3] .
Unable to qualify for the Beijing Olympics, Tarkhan left the location of the Turkish team and ended his sports career [4] .
