Stadium of Peace and Friendship ( Greek Στάδιο Ειρήνης και Φιλίας ) is a multifunctional indoor stadium located in the coastal zone of the Greek city of Piraeus .

History
The Piraeus Peace and Friendship Stadium was designed by Timios Papagiannis and Partners ( eng. Θύμιος Παπαγιγννης και ία ). € 25 million was spent on its construction (at 1983 prices). The arena was built next to the Karaiskakis Stadium in the coastal zone of Attica . The ceremonial opening of the stadium was held on February 16, 1985 during the first All-Greek indoor athletics championship, and in March he accepted the European Athletics Indoor Championship [1] . In 1989, the arena hosted the first-ever .
In 1991, the arena received a gold award from the [2] .
Since the season 1991/1992, the Stadium of Peace and Friendship has been the home arena of the professional basketball club Olympiacos . Since 2011, here is the headquarters of the team [3] .
In April 2002, to prepare for the 2004 Olympic Games, the arena was closed for renovation, for which € 7.3 million was spent. At the Olympics, in its walls were held men's and women's volleyball tournaments [4] .
In addition to sporting events, the stadium of peace and friendship is sometimes hosted by other cultural events: summits, motocross competitions, concerts. At various times there were Scorpions , Deep Purple , Dire Straits , Phil Collins , Gloria Estefan and other world famous artists.
