Many of the acquisitions since the museum began are made possible by the proceeds from the Annual Open Arts and Crafts Fair, sponsored by the League of Patrons of the Arts and the Mobile Museum of Art. In recent years, the collection has been replenished with the gifts of collectors. In 2001 , when the new building was being built, Haverty and Dr. J. Rhodes Haverty of Atlanta presented the museum with several contemporary art glass items. In total, they donated more than 183 exhibits.
