History and Description
Villa Klute is located at An den Sieben Gäßchen Street 9, in Iserlohn ( North Rhine-Westphalia ). The main structure of the villa is a one-story building with a flat roof and a small superstructure. It was built in 1930 according to the project of the Cologne architect Manfred Faber ( German: Manfred Faber , 1879-1944), who died in Auschwitz in 1944. Researchers noted the influence of buildings constructed by German-American architects Erich Mendelssohn and Karl Schneider (1892-1945) on the architectural elements of the building in Iserlohn - it was designed in accordance with the canons of the architectural movement " New Construction " (Neues Bauen), which was characterized by the spaciousness exterior design and roominess [2] . The villa was built as the residence of the Iserlohn industrialist Karl Klute. The smooth plastered walls of the building contrast with the bends of the roof-terrace and a large lattice window in the living room . The interior of the villa is clearly divided into residential and utility rooms. May 16, 1988 Villa Klute was included in the list of monuments of the city of Iserlohn under the number 163 (LWL-Nr. 56).
