History

The plant was founded in 1932 . And in November 1934 he released the first product - fabrics that provided the needs of the regions of Siberia , the Urals and the Far East . The plant included: spinning, weaving and finishing factories (currently spinning and weaving are combined into one spinning and weaving factory).

Construction

BMK was built as a single production complex with Barnaul TPP-1, which provided the melange plant with technological steam [1] . Due to miscalculations in planning, the construction of the plant was delayed (construction began when the plant's design was not yet ready, and even the designers had no time to go to the construction site), the director Maxim Goldberg was found guilty [2] . In March 1937, he was arrested by the NKVD , in October he was shot and rehabilitated in 1957 (in memory of this, on the street 26, Sizova Street , where Goldberg was arrested, the “ Last Address ” sign was installed in 2016) [3] . The construction of the plant was accompanied by the construction of a large social town for the workers of the enterprise and the first city thermal power station ; in 1937, BMK was built.

Soviet time

During the Great Patriotic War , products for the needs of the front were manufactured here: fabrics for military uniforms , calico for linen, faux fur for earflaps. In 1942, the only workshop in the country for the production of electrical insulating tubes went into operation, and artillery shells were produced at the mechanical plant of the plant. Over the years of the war, 137 million meters of fabric, 5 million meters of sterling hoses, 40 million meters of parachute webbing and braid were produced. The staff of the enterprise was awarded the rolling Red banner of T-bills .

By the mid -1950s, the capacity of the melange plant had doubled and the production of fabrics for general consumption was mastered. In 1969, the plant produced 61.4 million meters of finished fabric, and three years earlier received the Order of the Red Banner of Labor . In the 1970s and 1980s, the enterprise, together with industry research institutes, led the development of the application of new technologies on existing equipment.

Modern Russia

In the 1990s, the plant survived the crisis, production volumes fell. Outdated technological equipment was replaced by new high-performance equipment, which made it possible to expand and update the assortment of fabrics. And in 1993, switch completely to the production of wide fabrics. At the same time, the plant was transformed into a joint stock company .

In 2002 , the plant built its own gas boiler house , which covered the needs of the plant for process steam, and also solved the issue of heating and hot water both at the plant and in nearby houses and social facilities.

In 2006 , a garment factory, one of the largest in the Asian part of Russia, was commissioned at the plant . The factory was equipped with the latest equipment at that time.

In 2008 , the number of employees at the enterprise was about 1,600 people, but by 2015 it was reduced to 1,000 people [4] . The workers of the plant have repeatedly been awarded the Order of Labor Glory of the III degree, medals "For Valiant Labor", "For Labor Distinction" .

In 2015 , Taimuraz Bolloev bought the shares of the plant through BTK Holding [5] , the largest supplier of suits for the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

When buying, the new owner expected to increase the number of BMK employees from 1000 to 2000. Including seamstresses , technologists , weavers , spinners , mid-level managers and workers of other specialties were recruited [4] . However, already in February 2016 it was a question of increasing the number to the level of 2008, 1,600 people [6] .

In April 2017, Sergey Musatov was appointed as the director of the plant, previously he headed the large creamery “South of Russia - Golden Seed”. His predecessor, Oleg Pesikov, led the company for the past 30 years, having passed since 1975 from the master to the general director [7] .
