Biography
Born in the family of playwright Alfred Genneken . Grandson of the artist Philip Genneken .
He made his debut in the theatrical world at the age of 19 in 1882, helping his father from his youth.
Over a 45-year period of creativity, he wrote about 100 plays, mainly comedies , vaudeville , operettas, created by him alone and in collaboration. Contributed to the development and deepening of the vaudeville genre. Many of the works of M. Henneken were very successful - among them, first of all, the “Ribadier System” ( fr. Le Système Ribadier ; 1892, co-authored by J. Feydo ), popular not only in France but also in Great Britain, “You Do you want to say anything? ”( Fr. Vous n'avez rien à déclarer?; 1906, co-authored by P. Weber ) and others. For example, his comedy The Five-Hour Master ( French: Le Monsieur de cinq heures ; 1924, also co-authored with Weber) withstood 568 performances.
About 50 of his plays at different times were filmed.
