Biography
Born on March 6, 1944 in the village of Chervonye Yary, Tarashchansky District, Kiev Region [1] [2] .
In 1951-1961 he studied at a secondary school in the village of Luxurious in the neighboring Stavishchensky district .
After graduating from high school and construction college, in 1964 - 1968 he studied at the Moscow Theological Seminary [1] [2] .
From 1968 to 1972 he studied at the Moscow Theological Academy [1] [2] .
In 1969 he was tonsured a monk and ordained a hierodeacon [1] [2] .
In 1972 he graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy with a degree of candidate of theology and became a resident of the Pochaev Lavra [1] [2] .
In 1974 he was ordained hieromonk [1] [2] .
In 1983 he was convicted of anti-Soviet activities and sentenced to 6 years in prison [1] [2] .
In 1986, at the request of the Metropolitan of Lviv and Ternopil, Nicodemus (Rusnak) was prematurely released, elevated to the rank of archimandrite , appointed dean of the Pochaev Lavra, and with the appointment of a new viceroy, bishop of Pochaev, Jacob (Panchuk) , was sent as the economist-reinstatement of the revived monastery Kremen ] [2] .

On June 22, 1993 he was appointed bishop of Nikolaev and Voznesensky [3] .
On November 23, 2000, he was elevated to the rank of archbishop [1] [2] .
July 27, 2009 , on the eve of Memorial Day of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir , was elevated to the rank of Metropolitan His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Vladimir [4] .
On August 25, 2012 in connection with the separation of the Ascension Diocese from the Nikolaev Diocese , the title was changed to Nikolaev and Ochakovsky .
