Sveshnikov, Alexander Yuryevich

Born in Moscow on March 14, 1965 . Mother - Dovnar-Zapolskaya Irina Vatslavovna, engineer by training, her father - Vaclav Dovnar, a native of Minsk, a Pole by nationality. The surname Dovnar has French roots, and there was a document confirming this, where the surname was written "D 'Ovnar."

Alexander's parents divorced when he was two years old.

None of the relatives was professionally involved in cinema or literature, although in his youth, grandfather Vaclav Vikentievich Dovnar was fond of poetry and published in his native Minsk, and his mother and aunt on the maternal side always knew how to draw well.

Alexander graduated from school in 1982 . He also received a diploma in piano from a music school. Relatives hoped that Sasha would connect her life with music, but the movie's passion turned out to be stronger.

Immediately after school, Alexander goes to work at the country's main studio - Mosfilm . At first, the stage designer, then the illuminator. Participates in the filming of many domestic films. But, by his own admission, only working with Marlene Khutsiev and Otar Ioseliani was interesting and useful for the future director.

From 1983 to 1985, Alexander served in the army in the part of the Special Forces and Special Forces, and after 10 years of demobilization he was "restricted to travel abroad." The first time abroad was only in 1997 on the set of I. Maslennikov 's film “What the Dead Man Said” (in Greece).

Alexander began to shoot his films at school. At first, these were slide films , then, with the acquisition of the camera in 1978, films.

The first "serious" amateur film was the two-part "Don Quixote", where Alexander himself played the main role, and his mother Irina Vatslavovna - Sancho Pansu.

According to Alexander himself, this film, shot on a Soviet black and white eight-millimeter film, is for him the best and most expensive.

After serving in the army, while working at Mosfilm, Alexander and a group of like-minded people create several feature films - “The Cell”, “Revelation”, “Airplane” ^{[2] [3]} ,

A big influence, in his own words, was influenced by communication with actor Albert Filozov , whom they often met and even corresponded when Alexander served in the army. Until now, Alexander considers him his "godfather" in the cinema.

The film “Airplane” ^[4] , the work on which lasted for almost seven years, was the first work that opened Sveshnikov to the audience, though so far only for the festival. Thanks to Marlene Hutsiev, the film was shown at the “Window to Europe” film festival in Vyborg in 1994, where it was successful and received the prize “For Talent and Professionalism”.

Back in 1976, Alexander organized his home amateur film studio. In 1978, after the death of actor Vladislav Dvorzhetsky , he named her after V. Dvorzhetsky. The brand "Vladislav Dvorzhetsky Studio" ^[5] still exists, although the studio has not had a legal entity for a long time, but films with this brand are released today.

From 1992 to 2002, the V. Dvorzhetsky Studio ^{[6] was} located within the walls of the Moscow Film Club, being essentially its creative workshop. During this time, the feature film "Lake" ^[7] and many documentary works that participated in amateur and professional film festivals and shows and received prizes and awards were made.

Since 2003, the Studio became "independent" and left the walls of the Club of film amateurs.

The film "Lake", in which the main role was played by Alexander's civil wife, Svetlana Sladkovskaya (a famous theater artist who passed away in 1998 at the age of 32), was the last feature film of Alexander. According to Sveshnikov, he became disappointed in feature films, and devoted all his efforts to shooting films about nature and about people living in harmony with it.

Alexander carries out dozens of film expeditions to the most little-explored corners of Russia. This is the North of Russia, the Urals , Siberia , the Far East . A special place in geographical terms is East Sayan , where seven films were shot during two summer (2004 and 2007) and one winter (2012) expeditions.

Since 2006, Alexander has been working closely with the Golden Ribbon studio and its main director and producer, the famous documentary filmmaker Eugenia Golovnya .

As an operator, he makes films of the studio “The City of Kirensk and Its Inhabitants” (1997) (it also contains the director of editing), “Catch the Monkey” (2008), “One Way Ticket” ^[8] (2012), “Smolenskaya Switzerland” ^[9] (2014).

From 2011 to 2016, he worked as a director with the Komsomolskaya Pravda Publishing House. In addition to “custom-made” films (the series “Pioneers of the Far East” ^{[10] [11] [12] [13] [14]} ), he manages to make two author films with “Komsomolskaya Pravda” - “People of the Putorana Plateau” ^{[15] [ 16] [17] [18]} (2014) and "Mission ^{[19] [20] [21] [22] [23] [24] [25] [26] [27]} " (2016). Both films have a great resonance, are widely shown at film festivals and television channels, and receive well-deserved prizes and awards.

In 2011, the Veche Publishing House released Sveshnikov’s fiction novel “The Siberian Odyssey ^[28] ” (the author’s name is “The Way to People”), and in 2016, in the Komsomolskaya Pravda, the colorful illustrated album Charskaya Kotlovina - a unique geographical area Russia ^[29] ”, for which Sveshnikov wrote the text.
