Biography

Born in 1923 in Minsk.

In the fall of 1939, he was admitted to the DOSAAF Minsk flying club . At first he studied flying business, then flew on a Soviet U-2 plane, passing exams, got a referral to a flight school. But since they were admitted there from the age of 18, he was not accepted to the Minsk school and, having corrected his date of birth, went to the Aviation School of the city of Bataisk . [2] He was then sent to the command aviation school in the city of Grozny . After graduating from the rank of lieutenant, he continued his military service as part of the air brigade in the city of Ivanovo , where he became an instructor in training young pilots on new airplanes. An interesting moment of this period of service was the first meeting of Mikhail Kasnerik with Alexei Maresyev [2] , with whom he was friends after the war. Michael sought to get to the front and was soon sent to a military airfield in Rzhev , where he began to participate in reconnaissance flights. He became a full-time regimental reconnaissance officer, then a combat pilot had occasion to cover attack aircraft, participating in battles with German aircraft.

After World War II, military pilot Mikhail Kasnerik served in the Red Banner Air Defense Training Center, where he again trained young pilots from the Warsaw Pact countries to fly MiG-17 and MiG-19 aircraft . Sam tested the aircraft Yak-28 , Su-9 , Su-11 and others. He was familiar with Vasily Stalin and Pavel Sukhoi . [2] During his service, Mikhail Kasnerik spent 2500 hours in the air, mastered eight types of piston and eleven types of jet types of aircraft. He was the deputy commander for aviation of the 2nd separate army .

On a well-deserved rest, he lived in Belarus, was engaged in social activities - he performed at educational institutions and labor collectives, and participated in a veteran organization.

He died in 2015.
