Galina Konstantinovna Leontyeva ( November 4, 1930 - October 16, 1995 ) - Soviet and Russian art critic, author of a number of books on the history of Russian and Soviet art, candidate of art history [1] [2] [3] .

Biography
Galina Leontyeva was born on November 4, 1930. In 1948 she entered the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin (InZhSA), which she graduated with honors in 1953, receiving a diploma in art. The theme of the thesis is “Portrait work of A. M. Gerasimov ” (supervisor - Avraam Kaganovich ) [2] .
In 1960, Galina Leontyeva defended her thesis on the theme “Creativity of P. A. Fedotov and Russian Art of the 50s and 60s of the XIX Century” and received the degree of candidate of art history. The thesis was defended at the Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts of the USSR Academy of Arts [3] . She was a member of the St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad) Union of Artists (art criticism section) [4] .
Galina Leontieva wrote a number of monographs on the history of Russian and Soviet art of the 19th-20th centuries, as well as on the works of artists Karl Bryullov , Alexei Venetsianov , Pavel Fedotov , Arkady Plastov , Yuri Neprintsev , Alexandra Yakobson , Leonid Kabachek , Igor Obrosov and others. Separate publications by Leontyeva are dedicated to the famous canvases of Russian painters of the 19th century - The Last Day of Pompeii by Karl Bryullov and The Matchmaking of Major by Pavel Fedotov [5] .
She died on October 16, 1995 [1] .
