Creativity
For Victor Babentsov, to see was to draw. He was a master of thematic paintings and the theme of war in his work occupied an important place. He devoted such paintings to this topic as Brest Hero Fortress, and On the Liberated Land. 1943 "," Soldier. 1945 ”and other works. Thanks to the ability to select material and formulate what he saw, he becomes a master of landscape . Masterfully conveys his pleasure when he looks at the Crimean vineyards or at the lilac bushes. The artist also has mountain landscapes.
In 1962, the artist created a version of the painting, which earlier, back in 1952 , he presented as a thesis. She was dedicated to Lesja Ukrainka and became the most poetic in his creative heritage. “She stood and listened to spring” - a work fanned by a wonderful romantic feeling, which testifies to the artist’s unconventional approach to the historical theme and to the picturesque interpretation. The poetess is depicted as a young girl against the backdrop of nature, which she loved very much. The whole picture is subject to the psychological state of the heroine. This is not an illustration to the biography of the poetess, this is a creative plastic interpretation of the world of her poetry, in which Babentsov masterfully portrayed Lesina's fate and her life.
