Tula ( Spanish: Tula ) is a municipality in Mexico , Tamaulipas with an administrative center in the city of Ciudad Tula . The population according to the 2010 census was 27,572 people.

General information
The name Tula is borrowed from the ancient Toltec capital of the same name .
The area of the municipality is 3076 km², which is 3.83% of the total state area [3] , and the highest point - 1856 meters, is located in the settlement of La Tapona [1] .
Tula borders with other municipalities in the state of Tamaulipas: in the north with Bustamante and Palmillas , in the east with Ocampo , and in the south and west with another state of Mexico - San Luis Potosi [4] .

According to statistics from 2000, the working population is employed by sectors of the economy in the following proportions: agriculture, livestock and fishing - 50.2%, industry and construction - 18.9%, services and tourism - 29.2%, etc. - 1.7% [3] .

According to 2010 statistics, the infrastructure is developed as follows [3] :

- water supply: 78.2%;
- water disposal: 39.9%.
