College of Public Relations (Lviv)

The central part of the main facade of the former college of public relations

College of Piars - an architectural monument in Lviv ( Ukraine ). Located near the central part of the city, on Nekrasov street, 4.

The act of founding the collegium of the monastic order of PRs dates back to 1748 , but its construction began in 1762 and was completed in the second half of the 19th century. The authorship of the project is attributed to the Italian architect F. Placidi. The monumental building has the features of classicism. It is made of brick, U-shaped in plan, three-story, horizontally the facades are clearly divided by uncovered cornices . The central part of the main facade is two-story, faced with stone, with Corinthian pilasters on high pedestals and a massive portico of the main entrance. The central facade resembles the facade of the Lateran Basilica in Rome. Internal planning system is corridor with one-sided arrangement of premises.

Since 1782 , in connection with the secularization reform in Austria, the building was transferred to a hospital. Since the Soviet period in the history of Lviv, the building has been used as the central building of clinics of a medical institute (the current name is Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital ).
