IBM HandShaker (also known as Connect Commander or CN ) is a file manager for the DOS operating system , developed in 1991 . Had a Russian and English user interface , built-in screensaver , was used as a replacement for DOS Shell by professional programmers , due to the many additional features of the program.

History
Developed in Kharkov by programmers Jan Balter and Dmitry Orlov [1] since 1991 . The latest version of IBM HandShaker 7.5 was released in 1999 , and the alternative version of Connect Commander 8.0 was released in 2001 .
Description
It was first developed as an integrated environment for developers of embedded system and hardware, but eventually became a file manager with its (albeit rather primitive) scripting language and debugger . Like DOS Navigator , written in Turbo Pascal using Turbo Vision .
