Biography
Elian Dimitrov was born on June 2, 1991 in the city of Burgas , Bulgaria . He started boxing at the age of twelve, was trained at the local club Pobeda - Chernomorets under the guidance of coaches Radoslav Suslekov and Tsvetan Popov.
Amateur career
He made his international debut in the 2006 season, performing at the European Cadet Championships in Albania.
In 2009, he became the bronze medalist of the international tournament in Belgrade, boxing at the Junior European Championship in Poland.
At the 2010 Bulgarian Championship, he won the silver medal in the lightweight category, losing in the decisive final match to the titled compatriot Detelin Dalakliev . At this time, for the first time took part in the match meetings of the League World Series of Boxing .
He tried to qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London , but at the European qualification in Trabzon he was already defeated by the representative of Belarus Vazgen Safaryants at the preliminary stage.
In 2013, he won the standings of the Bulgarian national championship in the category of up to 60 kg. He played at the World Championships in Alma-Ata , but could not get here among the winners, losing to Venezuelan Luis Akron .
