History
Workshops for the construction of boats began work in the port of Ruschuk in 1881, in 1882 the first wooden boat was built here.
In 1921, port workshops were created here ( Bulgarian. Shelter worker - Ruse ).
In 1945, on the basis of port workshops, a shipbuilding and ship repairing factory named after Ivan Dimitrov ( Bulgarian shipbuilding and ship repairing factory "Ivan Dimitrov" ) was created, later expanded and reconstructed. In addition to the construction and repair of ships and ships, the plant produced dredges , as well as port and installation cranes .
In general, in the 1950s - 1980s the plant was one of the largest enterprises in the city [1] [2] [3] .
In September 1991, the state-owned enterprise was reregistered into the limited liability company Rusenska shipbuilding company Ltd. , in April 1999 it was privatized and became the property of the German company Beteiligungsgesellschaft GmbH.
The economic crisis that began in 2008 complicated the situation of the enterprise; in 2009, the plant took a loan from the Commercial Merchant Bank, but failed to repay the funds. In January 2016, the bank demanded to ensure the safety of the property of the plant and guarantee the return of debt at the expense of the property of the enterprise [4] . On February 9, 2017 the bank demanded the return of 30 million euros [5] . Subsequently, in 2017, it was decided to sell the enterprise that ceased production activities [6] .
