History
Initially, the lane ran from Bibikovsky Boulevard (later Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, from 1985 part of Pobedy Avenue) to the Lybid River.
The lane appeared in 1908 , under the name Dragomirovsky (in honor of the Kiev Governor-General M. I. Dragomirov), in reference books "All Kiev" under the name Dragomirovskaya Street was first mentioned in 1912 [1] , and since 1928 is called Bozhenko Street [2 ] , in honor of the Soviet military leader, revolutionary Vasily Bozhenko . Since 1931 - Kotovsky Street, in honor of the Soviet soldier, commander Grigory Kotovsky . During the occupation of 1941–1943, Konisskaya Street [3] was called, in honor of the Ukrainian writer Alexander Konissky, since 1944 - Kotovsky Lane [4] .
The name “Market” lane was received in 1963 [5] (as it followed to the New Market, located near the Lybed River).
The lane was officially liquidated in 1978 [6] due to a partial change in development and redevelopment of the area.
Meanwhile, only the final part of the lane was liquidated and built up, and the part between Victory Avenue and Zhilyanskaya Street still exists in the form of a through passage. In 2010-x, the lane reappeared in the official documents of the city and was included in the official reference book "Streets of Kiev" and the town-planning cadastre.
