Yuri Ivanovich Denisov-Nikolsky ( May 15, 1932 , Baku - January 27, 2018 ) - Soviet and Russian scientist, specialist in the field of experimental morphology, academician of RAMS (2000-2013), academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2013).

Biography

Born May 15, 1932 in Baku.

In 1956, he graduated from the S. Kirov Military Medical Academy , then served in the army, after which he returned to the academy as an adjunct of the Department of Human Anatomy.

Then he worked as an assistant to the Department of Normal Anatomy of the University of Friendship of Peoples , scientific secretary of the Research Institute of Human Morphology, USSR Academy of Medical Sciences .

Since 1970, he worked as deputy director and director of the Research and Training Center for Biomedical Technologies of the All-Russian Research Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (VILAR), and in recent years, as the chief research fellow.

In 1991 - was elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR .

In 2000 - was elected an academician of the RAMS .

In 2013, he became an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (as part of the accession of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences).

He died on January 27, 2018. He was buried in Moscow at the Don cemetery [3] .

Scientific activity

Specialist in the field of functional anatomy of the musculoskeletal system.

The founder of modern experimental morphology, the creator of the school of osteologists, contributed to the development of a number of theoretical and applied problems of modern functional and age-related morphology of the osteoarticular apparatus, biomechanics, bioimplantology and biomaterial science. He is the head of the new direction “Reproduction of cells, tissues and bioprosthetics”.

Since 1970, he participated in the development of one of the applied problems of anatomy related to embalming, which was used during special works both in Russia and abroad.

Member of the editorial board of the journal "Morphology", the editorial board of the journal "Technologies of living systems", deputy chief editor of the publication "Biomedical Technologies".

Chairman of the problem commission "Reproduction of cells, tissues and bioprosthetics" of the Scientific Council for Medical Biotechnology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Elected by the Secretary General of the International Association of Morphologists.
