Open University of Kazakhstan is a Kazakhstani non-profit project engaged in the creation of educational materials in the format of open online courses , as well as shooting and posting video lectures. The project operator is the Public Fund National Translation Bureau [1] , [2] .

Content
History
The project was created by the WikiBilim Public Fund in the spring of 2017 with the support of the telecommunications operator Kcell . Initially, the project was focused on creating online courses in technical disciplines, such as mathematics , programming , and robotics . In the first year of the project, more than 1000 people attended online courses [3] .
On April 12, 2018, the presentation of the open university platform to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev was held . Following the meeting, the President instructed all universities to accept online courses in the educational process [4] .
In 2018, online courses were created based on textbooks translated as part of the New Humanitarian Knowledge. 100 textbooks in the Kazakh language ” [5] .
The first who supported the projects were Academician Askar Jumaldildaev [6] , partner universities: Kazakh-British Technical University , Kazakh National Technical Research University named after K. Satpayev, Almaty University of Management and others.
