Villa de Maria ( Spanish: Villa de María ) is a city and municipality in the department of Rio Seco in the province of Cordoba ( Argentina ), the administrative center of the department.

History
In 1798, the governor of Cordoba, Rafael de Sobremonte, founded the settlement of Rio Seco here.
During the civil wars of the 19th century , was killed here in 1821.
The modern name of the city was given in 1858 by Governor .
