- By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Azerbaijan SSR, the administrative-territorial unit of Shaumyan district was liquidated and its territory was annexed to Goranboy region [1] .

- At a meeting of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, chaired by Heydar Aliyev, it was decided to establish the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis.
