Biography
Born in the family of a poor peasant Efim Ivanovich Solontsov. He graduated from four classes of rural schools. He studied sewing business, he worked in the household of his father.
From April 1924 - in the Red Army. He served as a Red Army guard battalion in the city of Tiflis (Tbilisi). In December 1924 he joined the Komsomol.
Since August 1925 - cadet of the Tbilisi military-political school.
Member of the CPSU (b) since 1926.
After graduating from the military-political school, he served for three years as the political leader of a company of a rifle regiment. In the years 1930-1933 - the political head of the aerodrome service unit. From 1933 - secretary of the bureau of the party organization of a tank battalion.
Higher education. He graduated from the Military-Political Academy named after Lenin.
After graduating from the Academy, he was appointed inspector of the political department of the Trans-Baikal Military District.
In January 1940 - 1941 - military commissar of a rifle-machine-gun school; military commissar of the Ryazan Infantry School of the Moscow Military District.
Member of the Great Patriotic War since 1941. In October 1941 - June 1942 - Military Commissar of the 172nd Infantry Division defending in the Crimea. In 1942 - 1943 - head of the political department of the 58th army of the Trans-Baikal Front. Participated in battles in the North Caucasus, Kuban, on the Dnieper and under the Highest Volochkom.
From March 1944 - Head of the Political Directorate of the Odessa Military District.
Then - retired.
