The brigade conducts its history from the 210th Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Infantry Division , formed on June 16, 1939 in the city of Perm . In March 1940, the 82nd Division was reorganized into the 82nd Motorized Rifle Division , and the regiment was in the 210th Motorized Rifle Division, on March 17, 1942 the 82nd Division was transformed into the 3rd Guards Motorized Rifle Division , and the regiment into the 6th Guards Motorized Rifle Division .

On the basis of the Directive of the General Staff of the Red Army No. 39188 / cc of June 17, 1943, the 6th Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Red Banner Regiment of the 3rd Guards Motorized Rifle Division was deployed to the 17th Guards Mechanized Red Banner Brigade of the 6th Guards Mechanized Corps [1] [2] [ 3] , according to the states №№ 010 / 420-010 / 431, 010 / 413-010 / 451. The formation of the brigade took place from June 21 to July 12, 1943 in the Kosterevsky military tank camps of the Moscow Military District with a deployment in the village of Deulino, Zagorsky District .

The 126th Tank Regiment was formed in November 1942, on the basis of the directive of the NKO USSR No. 2/884 of October 25, 1942. The formation of the regiment took place in Tambov on the basis of the 646th separate tank battalion, staff No. 010/292. The regiment entered the 17th brigade on June 20, 1943. Order of the NKO USSR No. 050 of March 17, 1945 and Directive of the General Staff of the Red Army No. Org / 4/83437 of April 4, 1945, the 126th Tank Regiment was transformed into the 115th Guards Tank Regiment No. 010/465.

Engaging in hostilities

The period of entry into the army: July 20, 1943 - September 19, 1943, February 28, 1944 - May 11, 1945 [4] .

From July 19 to July 25, 1943, the brigade made a four-kilometer combined march along the route: Zagorsk , Moscow , Podolsk , Serpukhov , Tula , Krapivna , Belev , the village of Dubenka, Bolkhovsky District, Oryol Region , where it entered into operational subordination of the Western Front .

On July 26, the brigade was introduced into the breakthrough on the Konoplyanka - Lunevo section with the task of developing success in the enemy’s operational depth, cutting the Orel - Bryansk railway and preventing the enemy from withdrawing from the direction of the city of Oryol. The brigade, as part of the corps, from July 26 to August 3, 1943, fought along the route: Voinovo, Vetrovsky, Suryanino, Krivusha, Rozhkovo, Krasny Sodok, Krasnaya Gora, Free Labor, Martynovsky.

From 4 to 5 August 1943, the brigade, as part of the corps, moved to the area: Nizina, Sorokina, Peshkovo, where it entered into operational subordination of the Bryansk Front .

From May 6 to 9, 1945, a brigade of the 6th Guards Mechanized Corps of the 4th Guards Tank Army participated in the Prague offensive operation . On May 6, the brigade began to advance in the direction: Ostrau , Luttewitz, Nossen , Freiberg , Most , Lokau, Prague and by 3 pm completely cleared the south-western outskirts of Prague to the Vltava River. Having completed the task, by the end of May 9, the brigade concentrated in the area of ​​Sporzhilov and by 6.00 on May 10 took up defensive positions in the area of ​​Dolní Brzežany.

After May 10, 1945, the brigade did not conduct any fighting, on May 12, it made a march to the Novi Dum area, where it set about setting up the camp and combat training.
