It combines micromycetes, which form predominantly brown colonies with conidiogenesis of the annelid type.
Colonies are fast-growing, velvety, bundled or granular. The color is whitish, grayish, beige, brown to dark brown, without blackish and greenish hues.
Anamorphic (conidial) sporulation is represented by conidiogenic annellids. Annellids on the tassel-branched conidiophores, or in bundles of 2-3 on a short conidiophore, or single directly on hyphae, cylindrical or somewhat swollen at the base, with a ribbed neck. Conidia are unicellular, collected in long chains, unpainted or brown, smooth or rough, with a truncated-convex base.
The teleomorph forms spherical to pear-shaped perithecy with an outlet or with a neck. The asuka are asuniticular, eight-spore, ovoid to ellipsoidal. Ascospores are asymmetric - kidney-shaped to lunate.
