History
The village was named after the second patronal feast of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker , who was also called Ekaterinovka - after the name of the wife of one of the princes Menshikovs. The village of Nikolaevka in the 18th century was populated by Little Russians (Ukrainians) from near Novocherkassk .
In 1899, the county zemstvo built an elementary school in Nikolaevka.
Since July 1928 Nikolaevka has been in the Znamensky Village Council of the Shatalovsky District .
Towards the end of the 1920s, the Red Fighter collective farm was formed in Nikolaevka. In the future, there was a union of several yards with the village of Nikolaevka in a single settlement Novonikolaevka.
Since January 6, 1954, Novonikolayevka as part of the Shatalovsky district entered the newly formed Belgorod region .
In 1965, an eight-year school with 200 seats opened in the village. In the same year, a medical center was opened.
In the 1970s, the village of Novonikolaevka was included in the Znamensky village council of the Starooskolsky district .
In 1989, a paved road was laid connecting Znamenka with Novonikolayevka. In 1991, a new club was built in Novonikolayevka.
Population
On January 12, 1979 in Novonikolayevka there were 370 inhabitants, on January 12, 1989 - 216. In 1997, in Novonikolayevka there were 115 households and 224 residents [2] .
