Koskin ( Spanish: Río Cosquín ) is a small river in the province of Cordoba , Argentina . It flows through the territory of , enters the Rio Primero River catchment area . The catchment area of the river is 840 km² [1] . The mouth water flow rate is 5.5 m³ / s [2] .

It originates 3 km north of the city of Koskin , at the confluence of the and rivers. It flows into Lake . It has several small tributaries.
On the river there are settlements Koskin (62 km from the capital of Cordoba), Villa Bustos, Santa Maria de Pugnilla , Villa Caeiro and Bialet Masset [3] .
11 species of fish inhabit the river, of which Bryconamericus iheringi, Rineloricaria catamarcensis, Hypostomus cordovae, Jenynsia multidentata, and Cnesterodon decenmaculatus predominate [4] .
When studying the quality of river waters, it was found that pollution is carried out both for anthropogenic and natural reasons. The latter have a noticeable effect in the summer, during the period of maximum precipitation [3] .
The river valley is a popular tourist destination.
This river served as a source of inspiration for a number of poets and singers of Argentinean folklore. One of the most famous musical themes that refer to this river is a song by the famous singer, poet and songwriter called Zamba del cantor enamorado [5] , which tells about the feelings that a guitarist experiences on the banks this river in January when the river wakes up. The analogy probably refers to the 9-day held this month [6] .
