Turkeve ( Hungarian. Túrkeve ) is a city in the Yas-Nagykun-Szolnok region in the Northern Alföld of Hungary , on the Barqueu River.

According to the 2017 census, the total population of Turkev was 8462 people, of which 87.8% were Hungarians and 2.4% were Roma. [2] [3] Turevé is one of the least religious cities in Hungary: 56.7% of the population are non-religious, 17.9% are Hungarian reformers ( Calvinists ) and 4.4% are Catholics . [2]
The natives of the city are cinema brothers - Alexander Korda , Zoltan Korda and Vincent Kord .
The civil cemetery, located at the entrance to the city from the city of Szolnok, contains the burial of 28 unknown Soviet soldiers who died in battles for Hungary . [four]
