Last Flag Flying is a 2017 film directed by Richard Linklater . The film is based on the 2005 novel of the same name by Darryl Ponixen. The premiere took place on September 28, 2017 at the New York Film Festival [1] .

Story
2003 year. Larry “Doc” Shepherd arrives at the Sal Nilon bar with which he once served in Vietnam. Together they go to a common acquaintance of Richard Muller, who also served in Vietnam and now works as a priest. The three of them go for dinner to Muller, where Doc says that his wife recently died of cancer, and their only son died in Iraq. Doc decided to meet with them in the hope that together they would take away the body of his son and then attend the upcoming funeral.
