Marlon Hairston ( born Marlon Hairston ; March 23, 1994, Jackson , Mississippi , USA ) is an American footballer , the Houston Dynamo club's rightmost midfielder .

Biography

Youth Career

In 2012, Harston entered the University of Louisville , combining his studies with playing for the university football team at the National University Sports Association ^[1] .

Club career

Hurston left the university after his second year of study, and on January 2, 2014 signed a contract with MLS for the Generation Adidas program ^[2] . On January 16, 2014, at the MLS Superdraft, he was selected by the Colorado Rapids Club in the first round under number 12 ^[3] . His professional debut took place on March 29, 2014 in a match against Sporting Kansas City . He scored his first goal in his professional career on August 20, 2014 against the Los Angeles Galaxy ^[4] . On April 2, 2015, Colorado Rapids leased Harston to the USL affiliate Charlotte Independence ^[5] . On May 8, 2015, in a match against Richmond Kickers , which ended with a 3-0 victory, he scored a goal and gave an assist, for which he was recognized as a player of the week in the USL ^[6] ^[7] . On May 19, 2015, he returned to the Rapids ^[8] . On September 1, 2015, Harston again went on loan to Charlotte Independence ^[9] , but after two matches of the Colorado Rapids recalled it ^[10] .

On January 11, 2019, Hurston was acquired by the Houston Dynamo club for $ 175 thousand in fixed distribution assets ^[11] . For Houston, he made his debut on February 19 in the first match of the 1/8 final of the CONCACAF Champions League 2019 against Guatemalan Guastatoy .

International Career

In April 2013, Harston participated in the training camp of the US national team under 20 years old ^[12] . A month later, he was included in the application of the US youth team for the Toulon Tournament 2013 ^[13] , however, he did not enter the field in the matches of the festival. Hurston was in the preliminary application of the US youth team for the youth world championship 2013 , but did not get on the final list ^[14] . In April 2014, he took part in the training camp of the US national team under 21 years old ^[15] .

As part of the US Olympic team, Harston participated in a friendly match with the Brazilian Olympic team on October 13, 2014 ^[16] .

On January 8, 2018, Harston was invited to the training camp of the US team before a friendly match with the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina ^[17] ^[18] , but he did not get into the application for the game on January 28 ^[19] .

Personal life

Marlon Harston is the cousin of NBA basketball player Lamarkus Aldridge ^[20] .
