Biography
Born on May 7, 1959 in the city of Kokand, Ferghana region, Uzbek SSR .
In 1982 - graduated from the Leningrad Veterinary Institute .
After graduating from university and before entering graduate school in 1984, he worked as a senior veterinarian of a pig-breeding state farm “Frunzensky” in the Ferghana region of the Uzbek SSR.
Then there was a postgraduate study (from 1984 to 1987), and then a scientific career: junior, senior researcher at the Department of Bird Tumor Diseases (1987-1993) at the All-Russian Scientific Research Veterinary Institute of Poultry.
From 1993 to 2005 - Director of Kronvet LLC.
In 2005 - defended his doctoral dissertation.
In 2010, he was elected a corresponding member of the RAAS.
In 2013, he became a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (as part of the accession of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences).
In 2016, he was elected an academician of the RAS.
Since 2005 - Director of the All-Russian Scientific Research Veterinary Institute of Poultry "- a branch of the All-Russian Scientific Research and Technological Institute of Poultry (Federal Scientific Center" VNITIP "RAS).
Scientific activity
Prominent scientist in the field of veterinary virology.
Under his leadership and with direct participation, fundamental and applied research was conducted aimed at creating tools and methods that provide reliable protection of the poultry head from infectious diseases, including especially dangerous ones (highly pathogenic avian influenza, Newcastle disease or bird plague). He is the founder of a new direction in veterinary science - immunobiological monitoring of the state of immune experience in normal and pathological conditions. He developed mono- and bivalent inactivated vaccines against highly pathogenic avian influenza, infectious bursal disease and Avikron.
The author of more than 200 scientific papers, 4 copyright certificates and 15 patents for inventions.
