The monument to V.I. Lenin on Lenin Square in Cheboksary was opened on June 26, 1960, when the 40th anniversary of the Chuvash Autonomy was celebrated.
It is the first monumental monument in Chuvashia. Lenin is depicted as if in a movement going forward. This is the first building that has become the ideological and artistic center of a large urban space.
