Bahrich, Albert (Jr.)

Albert Bachrich ( German: Albert Bachrich ; November 29, 1899 , Vienna - December 10, 1961 , Vienna ) - Austrian composer. Son of violinist Albert Bahrich , grandson of Sigismund Bahrich .

He studied at the Vienna Conservatory under Franz Schmidt (piano) and Joseph Marx (theory). After World War I, he earned his living as a pianist in cafes and bars in Vienna, Bad Ischl , Marienbad , accompanied his father in private concerts.

The turning point in Bahrikh’s career was 1933, when he began to compose songs and tangos that quickly brought him popularity. Bahrich's hits were included in the repertoire of such performers as Peter Eigelhof , Paul Dorn , Bohemia-Quartet . Bahrich continued to work as a songwriter until the end of the 1950s, with a break for the years of Anschluss and World War II. Among his most famous songs are “The Month Shines over Hernals ” ( German Scheint der Mond auf Hernals ), “We are Gypsies” ( German Wir Zigeuner ).
