Shurinov, Ivan Ignatievich

In the early days of World War II, was evacuated to the rear, worked on the collective farm named after S.M. Budyonny Chkalov region. In February 1944 he was drafted into the army. He graduated from the artillery self-propelled school. He fought in East Prussia, was seriously wounded. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and the medal "For Courage". After the war, he worked as a teacher of basic military training at the Okunev 8-year-old school of the Shklovsky District. In 1946, he came to the village of Znamenskoye, Pravdinsky District, Kaliningrad Region. After graduating from the Nizov School of Agricultural Mechanization, he worked as a tractor driver, a combine harvester on a collective farm. In 1954 he was elected deputy chairman of the collective farm named after M. Gorky. In 1957 he graduated from the correspondence department of the regional school for the training of agricultural personnel. In 1962 he was elected chairman of the Gorky collective farm. In 1968, he recalled: "... 20 years ago there was nothing here. When retreating, the Nazis tried, as they say, not to leave us a stake or a yard. Everything had to be re-created. It was a difficult time. Our collective farm, I remember, had there are only 12 cows on a dairy cattle farm, and there is only one sow on a pig farm. There was no need to think about machines. There were four tractors in the entire Pravdinsk MTS. Economic achievements made it possible to radically improve the welfare of collective farm residents, their way of life, culture, and to build modern production buildings, Palace of Culture, school, medical and children's institutions, many residential buildings. In 1971 he was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor. He died on August 19, 2012.

In the village of Ermakovo, Pravdinsky district, Kaliningrad region, a memorial sign was erected in his honor.
