Biography
He began to fight in 1966. He played for DSO Lokomotiv and SKA (Leningrad) in the weight category up to 57 kg. Trainers V.V. Abiyanov, N.S. Feigelson. He also played for the national team of Leningrad and the national team of the USSR.
Master of Sports of the USSR (1972). USSR Master of Sports of international class (1976).
Multiple champion of Leningrad (1970-1978), winner of the USSR Championship among youth (1972), bronze medalist of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR (1975), champion of the USSR (1976), bronze medalist (weight up to 57 kg) and World Cup winner in the national team USSR (1976). He completed his sports career in 1979.
After finishing his sports career, he switched to coaching. Since 1987, he worked as a trainer and teacher of the highest category in freestyle wrestling at the St. Petersburg School of Olympic Reserve No. 2 (technical school) .
Died on May 3, 2013. He was buried at the Theological Cemetery in St. Petersburg.
