Almiros ( Greek: Δήμος Αλμυρού [2] ) is a community (dim) in Greece . Included in the peripheral unit of Magnesia in the periphery of Thessaly . The population of 18,614 people according to the 2011 census [2] . The area of the community is 905.364 square kilometers [1] . Density - 20.56 people per square kilometer [2] . The administrative center is Almiros . In 2014, Dimitrios Eseridis ( Δημήτριος Εσερίδης ) was elected Dimarch at the local elections.

The community of Almiros was established in 1883 ( ΦΕΚ 126Α ). Community Almiros created and abolished the community in 1912 ( ΦΕΚ 262Α ), in 1947 ( ΦΕΚ 9Α ) the community was re-created. In 2010 ( ΦΕΚ 87Α ) under the Kallikratis program , the abolished communities of Pteleos and Surpi, as well as the Anavra community, were added to the Almiros community [3] .
