Khan al-Ahmar is located between the Israeli settlements of Maale Adumim and Kfar Adumim . In May 2018, the Israeli Supreme Court ruled that villagers could be deported [5] . The UN [7] , the International Criminal Court [8] , the European Parliament [9] and Amnesty International [10] stated that the destruction of the village would be considered a violation of international law and a violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention , and could be considered a war crime [3] .
History
According to the 1931 census, 27 people lived in three houses in Khan el-Ahmer [11] . In 1945, the villagers owned 16380 dunums of land [12] [13] .
Many villagers belong to the Bedouin clan Jahalin, which was expelled by the Tsahal from the Negev in 1952. The next year, they moved to Khan el-Ahmar, then under the Jordanian administration. In the late seventies of the XX century, Khan el-Ahmar was set aside as a new Israeli settlement, today's Maale Adumim [14] . Today, the village is the last Palestinian territory in the E1 zone , connecting the north and south of the West Bank .
In 2010, it was decided to demolish the village as illegally built [15] .
