On CYA colonies on the 7th day at 25 ° C 2-3 cm in diameter, abundantly spore-bearing, with drops of unpainted exudate. Reverse grayish-orange-brown. On the agar with malt extract (MEA), colonies on the 7th day were 2–2.5 cm in diameter, abundantly spore-bearing, with a pale yellow reverse. On agar with yeast extract and sucrose (YES), colonies 2.5-3 cm in diameter, abundantly spore-bearing, with a cream-yellow reverse, often darker in the central part.
At 37 ° C there is no growth.
Conidiophores are bunk, often with additional branches, 150-2000 microns long, distinctly rough. Metulae 9.5-13.5 microns long, cylindrical. Phialides are flask-like, 8-10 × 3-4 microns, with a short neck. Conidia are ovoid to almost spherical, smooth-walled, 2.1-2.8 × 2.7-3.5 microns.
Differences from close species
Differs from Penicillium lanosum and related species in long rough conidiophores and smooth conidia.
