Biography
Catello Amarante was born on May 1, 1990 in the city of Castellammare di Stabia in the Campania region of Italy . He started rowing seriously at the age of nine in 1999, trained at the local club Stabia CN, and later transferred to the Marina Militare Sabaudia team.
He first made his name in the 2008 season, when he joined the Italian national team and spoke at the World Championships in Ottensheim , where he took fifth place in the junior standings of four oar with lightweight steering. Two years later, at the world youth championship in Brest, he became a silver medalist in light, wheelless, oar fours. A year later, at similar competitions in Amsterdam, he won in the same discipline.
He achieved his first serious success in the international arena in 2012 when he attended the World Championships in Plovdiv and brought back the silver dignity award won in the lightweight eights program. The following season at the world championship in Chunju was the best in this discipline.
In 2016, he performed in the lightweight doubles at the World Championships in Rotterdam , but could not get here among the winners.
In 2017, he won a silver medal in the light oar four without a helm at the European championship in Rachitsa , while at the world championship in Sarasota he showed the fourth result in the main final, stopping a step away from the prize positions.
He won four doubles at the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow , while at the World Championships in Plovdiv he won the silver medal.
