Jimenez ( Spanish: Jiménez ) is a municipality in Mexico , Tamaulipas, with the administrative center in Santander Jimenez . The population according to the 2010 census was 8,338 .

General information
The name Jimenez is given in honor of the hero of the Revolutionary War Juan Nepomuseno Jimenez Garza.
The area of the municipality is 1670 km², which is 2.08% of the total state area [3] , and the highest point is 362 meters, located in the village of El Carriso [1] .
Jimenez borders on other municipalities in the state of Tamaulipas: in the north with Cruillas , in the east with Abasolo , in the south with Casas , in the south-west with Padilla , and in the west with San Carlos [4] .
